Whangārei Youth creators market

As the Stage and Logistics Manager for the Youth Creators Market and 'Goldfish Tank' pitch event during Youth Week 2025, I played a key role in bringing a fresh, dynamic energy to The Strand in Whangārei's town centre. This event, organised by Volunteering Northland’s Whangārei Youth Action Group in partnership with The Strand Shopping Centre and NorthChamber, was all about celebrating rangatahi creativity and entrepreneurship, giving young artists, makers, and business minds a space to showcase and sell their products, pitch their ideas, and connect with the wider community.

My role involved the coordination of the event’s physical and technical infrastructure. I managed audio visual elements and liaised with performers, guest speakers, and facilitators to ensure seamless transitions and a smooth-running programme. With limited time for pack-in and setup, efficient planning and problem-solving were key to ensuring the event was ready to go by 9am sharp. This was a collaboration with Volunteering Northland and The Whangārei Youth Action Group.
